Dr. Julian Oberndörfer is a commercially minded lawyer with more than two decades of experience in commercial, IP and media law. As founder and owner of OC Legal, he has had the privilege of advising start-ups, scale-ups and multinational companies on their legal strategies, market entry and business transformation.
His legal approach is entrepreneurial, pragmatic and deeply rooted in operational understanding. He not only offers legal advice, but also supports companies as an external corporate lawyer by aligning the legal framework with the company's goals in order to enable sustainable growth and minimize friction.
His global business network stems from his role as CEO of a global trade association, where he worked with stakeholders on all continents. During this time - and also in his previous leadership role at HSE - he discovered his passion for optimizing business processes and leveraging new technologies and applications to increase efficiency and innovation.
Throughout his career, he has worked closely with companies in the technology, e-commerce, media and consumer goods sectors and has extensive experience in international expansion and cross-border legal structuring.

The management and restructuring of the initially purely European teleshopping association was renamed ERA Global in 2018 and has since been expanded to represent industry interests worldwide. ERA Global is an international trade association which, in addition to the exchange with international regulatory institutions, e.g. on platform responsibility for IP infringements or Counterfit, represents the industry at national level, e.g. vis-à-vis Ofcom. The association's portfolio also includes international trade conferences and platforms, which take place regularly in Europe and, since 2022, also in the USA (Las Vegas, Chicago). Industry representatives meet to discuss business opportunities and bestsellers, and specialists provide information on the latest developments in areas such as product innovations, customer approach and regulatory innovations.
