Under § 51 of the Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO), attorneys are required to maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of 250,000 euros per insured event.

The geographic scope of the insurance coverage is governed by statutory provisions and the terms and conditions of the insurance policy. The insurance coverage does not include liability claims arising from activities conducted through law firms or offices established or maintained in other countries in connection with the provision of advice and the practice of non-European law, or from proceedings before non-European courts, to the extent and for as long as no insurance coverage exists for such claims.

Consumer Dispute Resolution

Dr. Julian Oberndörfer is neither obligated nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

This does not affect the possibility of out-of-court dispute resolution through the Bar Association’s mediation board pursuant to § 191f of the Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO).
